Sir Richard Branson hands this postcard to an assistant and say, “It needs a stamp.”
This was fun to imagine into existence. I learned the Kármán Line is an attempt to define a boundary between Earth’s atmosphere and outer space. So it seemed as good as any place to originate a postcard, which is today’s ICAD prompt.
Sir Richard Branson is scheduled to launch this 11 July 2021 on the Virgin Galactic as Astronaut 001 among a crew of six others, beating Jeff Bezos by what appears to be ten days.
We will be watching.
The prompt is ‘treehouse’ and birds live in trees, right? The objective of ICAD is to create something every day, even it’s a quick something. Micron pen.
Today’s ICAD (Index Card A Day) prompt is ‘quilt.’
I’ve been designing ideas for a 3’x3’ barn quilt sign to hang in my front yard so today’s prompt gave space for some practice.
Sunflowers are top on my perennial list of favorite flowers, even though they’re annuals. And I’ve always loved barn quilts, so the match seems favorable. This is a rather sloppy watercolor pencil rendition and there are a few more patterns I’ve been considering.
You can read more about the history of barn quilts, hex signs, and quilt trails at West Virginia Mountain Mama’s website.
Until tomorrow! xox
This maple leaf from a previous ICAD fit today’s prompt of maple. The October Glory maple is one of my favorite trees.
